Website Analysis - Lana Del Rey

 

On Lana Del Rey's website it shows her name on bold capital letters in blue to make it stand out from the options the user has to short list their search. These options are in white, to show that it's Lana Del Rey's official website. 

 These are links to Lans's social networking sites such as, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumbler and her Sound Cloud. This allows her fans to keep updated on what she's releasing and be the first ones to know about her upcoming events.

This is the boldest part of the website, it shows her name in a different colour to the newest album she's released, once the website has loaded there's her singles playing in the background which promotes her music even more.

 

 These are options of different options that are available, her fans are able to view her photo gallery from previous events and the productions of her albums.

 For her fans wanting to see her live, there's an options to see the upcoming events.

Theres also viewings of her albums that are already released, when the user clicks on the album theres availability to hear the singles on each album. 

 For each single Lana's released she's released a music video as well. As music videos have become half of the music, music recently has become more about the visuals but still about the music. From the singles from the album there's a relation to the album cover in the music videos of the singles.

At the bottom of the website it shows different options to view her albums, see her live and access her Instagram. This promotes her music more and also her as an artist.

Digi Pack Analysis - Lana Del Rey

For this task I'm looking at Lana Del Rey's album Born to Die which she released back in 2012, this was her first album she released.  

For this part of research I'll be looking at a known artist's divi - pack, from this I'll be seeing whats included into a digi - pack and for us to ensure we're including this in to our digi pack.This is Lana Del Rey's digi pack which was released back in 2012, this was her second studio recorded album she released.The front of this digi pack is a image of Lana, this is her on the front of the cover digi - pack, she's wearing a pure white shirt which reflects her music she produces as being very pure. She's not showing any emoshion in the pose she's chosen to have as she's portraying more of a passion for the music rather then the image she's creating. The angle of her head shows that she's looking forward and keeping her head at a strong angle. Her name is clearly shown at the top if the divi pack, the title of the album is at the bottom is block capitals with a blue font with a white background.

On the C.D the has red roses, red commonly shows passion for something and this is shown in her music. These also a white back ground with the roses on.

In the digi pack there is a booklet with each of the songs in the album with all the lyrics for the songs which breaks down each song into different verses and chores.

The back of Lana's Digi - pack shows the singles which are included into the album, this shows the order in which the songs play in.

Video Pitch Script

Hello, we have decided to create a music video using the song 'Carry on' which was produced by Bisola. 

The idea of the video is to show a woman going through an emotional struggle and then is able to overcome her insecurities. She is in her bedroom where she is looking depressed and is isolated. We got inspiration from the movie Twilight because it shows Bella going through a similar depression to our character. 

The main theme throughout our music video is body image. Our video shows the theme of body image because our character is insecure and emotionally distressed due to her own view of her body. We chose this theme because this is a world wide issue in society and will show how people can over come this problem, inspiring others. 

Here are some facts about body image we have found, this shows how problematic this is in todays society. 

Throughout the video we will show her struggling through her trying to be something which she is not. For example, her changing the way she looks using things such as make-up and Photoshop on the computer. This will show how the media and celebrities produce this "perfect" image which many people aspire to be like. 

We will show her fighting through the struggle and overcoming her insecurities. We will show an imaginary angel and devil on each shoulder giving her advice and telling her the right and wrong thing to do. 

Throughout our video we will include close ups of her face where she is wearing no make-up and looking depressed. We will also include medium/long shots where you can see her body and also her surroundings, setting the scene and atmosphere. 

We will use a high angle over a bed to show her anxiety and stress also we will be using a close up of her eye to show her inner thoughts.

We will use wide shots to show her location and use shallow focus to show her looking at her phone in the street. This will create hyper reality as her social networking look is different to what she's like in real life. 

Throughout the video will show her struggle, towards the middle and the end she realises that other people are in the same position and she's not alone through this situation. We will show this through the other people experiencing what she is.

In our music video we also hope to create a cloning effect of her seeing "perfect" self she has created and visualises. This creates hyperreality, we also hope to use shallow focus throughout to show hyperreality. Our video will also scroll through a selection of natural faced girls and women smiling to show natural beauty.

The ending will not only show her overcoming this but a variety of other people too. We hope our video will motivate people and help put out the message of overcoming body image.
