Evaluation Question (2)

2) How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? Write up a script and record a voice over for your music video

Talk about how you kept parity across the 3 products,(how they all looked like they came from the same production). Talk about the film, digipak and advert for the digipak (website).

Emily: We kept all three of our products to a similar appearance. As the music video is uplifting we tried to make the digipack and website to a similar appearance. To give the digipack an uplifting and optimistic appearance we chose suitable colours, images and fonts. We kept the fonts the same in the digipack and the website. The colours we used in the digipack are calming, bright and appealing, similar to colours used in the music video. We have used a rose to symbolise purity and pace, this gives the artist her image.

Ellie: with the music video we ensure the outfits were kept same throughout the scenes but chamged when we wanted to create a different mood, we also changed the lightening and angle when the different scenes were being shown. We have showed similarity to the digi-pack and website by ensuring we had included bright scenes, during filming we had also showed our actress without any make up on to show purity and peace. The photos we used were shot during and after filming to ensure they looked the same.

Ben: In our website we have used the same fonts and colours that has been used in the digipak. The video also has a beige tone filter to keep the same design throughout our music video, website and digipak. The website uses images that are closely linked to the digipak and feature other images which reference to the music video. Keeping all the same fonts, colour and images the same throughout makes all of the products link and shows continuity. Our main product the music video is very effective at being recognisable in relation to the website. The website created features the music video, album, her songs and images of the artist.
